Gizachew Addis Mihrete (known at home as Kirub), born in Dembecha, West Gojjam, completed military training at Birshelleqo in 1987 and was posted to Asmara, where he served with his unit until 1990. In October 1990 he wrote to his family that he would come home in January. No further word from him ever arrived. His family and his mother, who still waits for him have searched for him ever since. Missing From Ethiopia is now searching with them. No family searches alone.
