Kamal Sh/Aymo Gando, from Wal-Argi Boobe village in Guna woreda, Arsi zone, Oromia, left Ethiopia around April 2010 (late 2002 in the Ethiopian calendar), travelling toward Saudi Arabia by way of Yemen. He crossed to Yemen by boat with a group of fellow travellers. During the onward journey, in the confusion of a night-time incident shortly after the group came ashore, the travellers were separated. When his companions searched for Kamal the following morning, he could not be found. No confirmed news of him has reached his family since that night, and they do not know to this day whether he survived. His family continues to search for him. Missing From Ethiopia is searching with them. No family searches alone. Anyone who travelled that route in that period, anyone in Yemen or Saudi Arabia who may have known him, or anyone holding any trace of him however small is respectfully asked to share it through the tip form on this page. Every message reaches his family.
